- Extended to the whole of India.
- Persons belonging to the priority household (as per section 15(I) to receive 5 kgs per month per person at a subsidized price from State Government under Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS).
- Subsidized price: 3 per kg rice, 2 per kg for wheat and 1 per kg for coarse grain (millet) for a period of 3 years from the commencement of the scheme.
- Household covered under Antodaya Anna Yojana will continue to get 35 kgs of food grains per month per household.
- This program and the Antodaya Anna Yojana combined extend up to 75% for rural population and 25% for urban population.
- Pregnant women and lactating mother entitled to meal free of charge during pregnancy and 6 months after pregnancy through the local anganwadi (child care and development centre set up under ICDS scheme of central government).

- Maternity benefit of no less than 6000 INR.
- For children- 6 months to 6 years- age appropriate meal through aganwadi.
- For children- 6 years to 14 years (up to class 8) – one mid day meal free of charge (except school holidays) to all schools run by local bodies. govt. or govt. aided schools.
- Free meals also to be provided for children suffering from malnutrition.
- In case of non supply of food grains, entitled persons would be provided with the food security allowance from the State Government.
- After excluding people under Antodaya Anna Yojana scheme, the priority household would be covered under the present scheme.
